Adults
You don't have to keep putting up with it
Most adults who come to see us have been managing something for longer than they should have. The neck that tightens up every few weeks. The headaches that seem to come from nowhere. The back that went out again. The tiredness that never quite lifts.
These things have causes. And in most cases, they have solutions. The part most people miss is that the solution isn't just managing the symptom, it's understanding what's driving it.
Why Does It Keep Coming Back?
If you've had treatment before and felt better for a while, only to have the same problem return, you're not alone. That cycle usually happens when the symptom is addressed without addressing the underlying cause.
At First Chiropractic, we start with a thorough assessment, your health history, an INSiGHT nerve scan, and X-rays if needed. We want to understand what's actually going on before we recommend anything. Then we walk you through what we find, what we recommend, and why.
And we meet you where you are. Whether you've come in because of pain or because you want to be proactive about your health. We start there.
"Most people come in because something hurts. What keeps them coming back is realising how much better their body can function when their nervous system is working properly. That shift in perspective changes everything."
- Dr Chris Anderson
Conditions We Commonly Help With
Back Pain
Lower back pain is the most common reason adults seek chiropractic care, and one of the most well-researched areas. Whether it's a sudden onset, a long-standing ache, or something that flares up under stress or after sitting too long, we assess what's driving it and build a care plan around that.
Neck Pain
Neck pain rarely comes from nowhere. It usually builds gradually, from desk posture, screen time, stress, or a combination of all three. By the time it becomes a daily problem, the underlying restriction has often been present for months.
Headaches and migraines
The vast majority of headaches that aren't caused by an underlying medical condition originate from the upper cervical spine. Identifying and addressing that source, rather than masking the headache, is what produces lasting change.
Sciatica
That sharp, burning, or shooting pain down the leg, sometimes with numbness or tingling, is the sciatic nerve under pressure. Getting an accurate picture of where the compression is coming from, including X-rays when needed, allows us to address it specifically.
Hip Pain
Hip pain is often misattributed, sometimes it's the hip joint itself, but frequently it originates from the lower back, sacroiliac joints, or surrounding musculature. A thorough assessment that looks at the whole picture gives us the most accurate starting point.
Disc Problems
Disc bulges and herniations can be genuinely debilitating, but they don't always require surgery or heavy intervention. Chiropractic care can be highly effective in reducing the nerve irritation and joint dysfunction that accompany disc injuries. Our on-site X-ray facility helps us assess the spine accurately before recommending any care.
Shoulder Pain
The shoulder is a complex joint, and pain there can come from the shoulder itself, the neck, the upper thoracic spine, or a combination. We assess the full picture before addressing the problem.
Nerve pain and tingling
Pins and needles, numbness, or burning sensations in the arms or legs are signs that a nerve is being irritated somewhere along its path. Our INSiGHT nerve scan and on-site X-rays help us get a clear picture quickly.
Posture and tech neck
Hours at a desk or on a screen change the shape of your spine over time. This is one of the most common things we see in adults under 50. The spine responds well to care when the pattern is addressed early.
Stress & Fatigue
The connection between nervous system function and stress is direct, a spine under physical stress keeps the nervous system in a low-grade state of activation that affects sleep, energy, mood, and resilience. Many patients notice improvements in how they handle stress and how they sleep as their nervous system function improves.
What Happens After The Pain Goes
Most people come to us because something hurts. But the ones who get the most out of chiropractic care are the ones who keep coming after the pain resolves, because they've noticed what a well-functioning nervous system actually feels like.
Better sleep. More energy. Less tension. Feeling more like yourself. These aren't side effects, they're what happens when the nervous system is working without interference. Wellness care is how you hold onto that, and build on it. We'll never push you to continue beyond what's right for you, but we will give you the information to make that choice clearly.
Signs It's Worth Coming In
- Pain or tension that keeps coming back despite treatment elsewhere
- Headaches that are becoming more frequent or harder to manage
- Stiffness or restricted movement that's been there so long you've stopped noticing it
- Pain, tingling, or numbness that radiates into the arms or legs
- Fatigue and poor sleep that doesn't seem to have an obvious explanation
- You want to understand what your spine and nervous system actually look like
